Return Conditions by Product Type
Identify exclusions and understand which tags, seals, packaging and device conditions must be preserved before requesting a return.
- 01Check exclusions before buying
- 02Preserve tags, seals and accessories
- 03Document a quality issue before making changes
Meeting a packaging condition does not itself make an item returnable. Seller acceptance, application timing and the other eligibility requirements still apply.
Identify Items Outside Standard Returns
Read the listing before buying an item that is made to order, used, personal-use or expressly non-returnable. The official policy lists these and other categories outside its standard return/exchange guarantee. The table groups the exclusions for easier checking; seller-specific conditions can also apply.
Changes requested by the buyer matter too. Removing a tag, accessory or original packaging can affect the return decision. Resolve size and condition questions before authorizing those warehouse services.
| Group | Examples or condition to check |
|---|---|
| Custom or restricted listings | Made-to-order designs, explicitly non-returnable listings and other seller exclusions |
| Used or overseas-source goods | Second-hand items; goods sourced outside mainland China, including Hong Kong and Macao |
| Personal-use or consumable goods | Underwear, socks, leggings, adult products and food |
| Publications | Newspapers, periodicals and the listed category of orders containing at least 15 books |
| Changed condition | User-requested packaging, tag or accessory removal; opened goods subject to sealing requirements |
Keep Shoes and Clothing Return-Ready
For new sneakers, the policy requires any applicable anti-theft clasp and anti-damage sticker to remain intact and functional. Check whether an inspection or removal request would cut or remove either one.
For clothing, keep the original tags and accessories while deciding on fit or condition. Ask for measurements with clear endpoints and units without requesting changes that remove a required tag. Keep the order variation and received-condition photos for any enquiry.
Check Device Conditions Before Authorizing Use
Photographing a model marking is different from installing, using or testing a product. Review the category requirement before authorizing a change. The following are conditions in the official special-standards list; they are not a list of tests the warehouse promises to provide.
| Category | Condition described in the policy |
|---|---|
| Digital goods and smaller appliances | Relevant access-permit marking remains intact; no water damage |
| Cameras | For an SLR camera, shutter operation must not exceed 20 actuations |
| Large appliances | TVs and air conditioners have not been wall-installed; washing machines have not been used with water |
| Electronic components | No soldering or IC-socket installation; relevant consumable seals remain intact |
Preserve the Manufacturer’s Seal
The policy treats a manufacturer-applied seal or plastic wrap as the relevant sealing layer. Opening an outer delivery carton is not necessarily the same action as opening the product’s sealed package. Clarify the intended inspection if a seal needs to remain untouched.
Its special-standards list includes personal-care and hygiene goods, hair and skin care, cosmetics, fragrance, beauty tools, sealed game software, pet food and health products, and veterinary goods. A broader sealing note also names food and supplements, medical devices, contraceptives, baby diapers and audio-visual products.
Models, figures, dolls, cosplay-related goods and similar collectibles have tape or plastic-seal requirements. Books and magazines also need to be free from folds, water damage, stains, writing and reading marks. Preserving a seal does not override a separate exclusion, such as food being outside standard returns.
Report a Quality Problem with Evidence
For an excluded item with a quality problem, the policy describes reviewing the situation with the seller and working toward a resolution. Without a quality issue, third-party platform restrictions may prevent a standard return. Seller communication is not the same as guaranteed approval.
Send the order, payment record, condition pictures and a specific explanation before altering or discarding the goods. Ask which requirement applies and what evidence is needed. A general product-type table helps you prepare, but the item decision still belongs to the actual order process.
